A major new exhibition “Pop Life: Art in a Material World” opens tomorrow (October 1st) at the Tate Modern in London. The exhibition takes Andy Warhol’s notorious provocation that “Good business is the best art” as a starting point in reconsidering the legacy of Pop Art and the influence of the movement’s chief protagonist. Part of the Exhibition features several new works by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. These include a painting titled “Kirsten Dunst & McG & Me” & a video collaboration with director McG which features Kirsten as an anime-style Japanese schoolgirl singing a version of The Vapors hit “Turning Japanese”.Yesterday Takashi Murakami attended the “Press View” of the Exhibition. We’ve added to the gallery some pics of him posing with the aforementioned painting.
