QUESTIONIARE
1.Why did you become a fan of Kirsten?
‘It was a gradual process. I remember thinking she dominated the screen in Interview with a Vampire when I saw it in the theatres in 1994, and I did see Little Women, Jumanji, and Small Soldiers at the theatres when they came out. At this time I was only vaguely aware of her name. What sticks in my mind, however, is when I rented Drop Dead Gorgeous when it came out on DVD (probably January or February of 2000). She totally captured my attention in that movie. Even though she is one of the more ‘normal’ people in a movie with many outrageous characters, she still gets some of the best lines. I think that is a difficult task, and I was impressed. It was only after that that I starting looking up her films and realized that she was the one I had seen in these other movies.
Since then, I have become more and more interested in her, her career, and her movies. I have become a student of her movies – there are few things she has appeared in that I have not seen. There is something subtle and indescribable that she brings to her performances. If I could figure out that exact ingredient, and package it, I would become a millionaire. Many of my friends think I have become obsessed, since, well – I am. Even so, they all agree that she is very talented, as is obvious from the many movies I have showed them.
2. In three words how would you describe Kirsten?
Very talented, versatile young actress.
3. Whats your top three Kirsten movies?
I have to answer this in three parts:
Top three (best movies): Eternal Sunshine, Spider-Man 2, Virgin Suicides.
Top three (best performances): Crazy/Beautiful, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Interview with a Vampire.
Top three (repeat viewing): Drop Dead Gorgeous, Wimbledon, Spider-Man 2
4. What kind of movie would you like to see Kirsten in next?
Comedy. I love comedies, but I also think they are the most difficult kind of movie to make. Comedies can succeed on a number of levels – slapstick, having outrageous characters, drawing from real life, etc. Kirsten has been in many comedies, but in many of these she plays the ‘straight man’ to some of the other characters. In Drop Dead Gorgeous, Dick, and Strike! I think she demonstrates that she has great timing and delivery with comedic material. Of course, the limiting factor with many of these things is the script. If there was a good script, I think she would be fabulous in another comedy.
5. Why do you like her?
Wow – I could write a book on this subject. Pick a topic – her talent, her eyes, her presence, her versatility, her smile,…
Actually, one thing that has always stood out was her maturity. It is hard to describe, but in many of her movies she is very mature for her age – another way to put it is that she is often paired with people who are quite a bit older than she. Her school movies for example (Strike!, Bring It On, Get Over It, Drop Dead Gorgeous), she is one of the only cast members who is playing someone her actual age. This may seem inconsequential, but because she is younger, the innocence and naivety of her real self still shine through even though she many be one of the dominant characters. I am not sure if that makes sense to anyone, but it one of the many intangibles that build up to this amazing person.
Her eyes – they are the portal into her soul. In so many scenes she has this complex emotional world going on behind her eyes, even though outwardly we see a smile. We see this perfectly in her last movie Elizabethtown. When Drew catches up with her outside and tells her for the first time about his losing money for the shoe company, her facial expressions and the depth in her eyes, is brilliant!
I also like the way (in my mind, anyway) she has grown from cute little girl, to talented actress, to beautiful young woman, to successful Hollywood star – all on her own.
6. Do you think you’re like Kirsten at all, if so how?
No.
8. What’s your favorite picture of Kirsten?
9. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Movies, photography, art, woodworking, hiking.
11. Favourite actor(s)/actress(es)?

Actresses – Kirsten Dunst, Katherine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Grace Kelly, Faye Dunaway, Uma Thurman, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman.
13. If you met Kirsten tommorow what would you say to her?
Probably nothing – the last thing she needs is to be pestered by another annoying fan like me.
14. How long have you been visiting our site? :
Off and on for probably 3 – 4 years, and daily (practically) for a year and a half.
15. Favourite part of the site? :
The Gallery is probably the most comprehensive for any fan website, and perhaps the most significant part of the website, but I must say I enjoy the Forum the most.
Kirsten does not really need publicity anymore, so this may never become the ‘Official’ Kirsten site, but I think we all know it is THE Kirsten website.
16. What could we do to improve the site? :
Not much – just keep up the outstanding work and allow me to help whenever I can.
17. Who would you like to see Kirsten co-star with?
Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Jimmy Fallon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Orlando Bloom (again), Jim Carrey (again), Tom Cruise (again), Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett.
18. Anything else you’d like to add?
I am not the type of person who joins fan clubs, but there is something amazing about this young woman that fascinates me. I think I will be a member for a long time and I am very much looking forward to growing old watching my favourite blue-eyed blonde in movies for decades to come.
