Back in the land of pale skin and asymmetrical haircuts (i.e., Lower Manhattan), the 303 Gallery celebrated the opening of its new Chelsea satellite on wednesday in luxe, hipster fashion: a DJ set by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, a live set by the Virgins, and a lavish spread of “Fairy Food” cookies baked by artist Karen Kilimnik. Spotted in the crowd were Cecilia Dean, Poppy de Villeneuve, Kirsten Dunst, and Cynthia Rowley, who came with her nine-year-old daughter Kit. “She adores the Virgins,” explained Rowley, though the precocious youngster interjected, “I like everything about this party except the noise.” Dunst agreed. “I borrowed a pair of ear plugs from Karen Kilimnik,” she said. “But they’re not working, so I’m just going to listen to the band from the sidewalk.”Evelyn Crowley www.style.comI’ve added pics of Kirsten at the Gallery to our gallery!.
