The Art of Elysium is dedicated to enriching the lives of artists and critically ill children. We believe that there is a powerful and mutual exchange of hope and appreciation that occurs when artists share their time and talent with children battling serious medical conditions.
The lives of these children are largely filled with suffering, loneliness, fear and regimen. Artists have the unique ability to help children in need find a creative voice and discover a sense of individuality and self-efficacy, even in the midst of overwhelmingly difficult circumstances. In return, those same artists, who have been taken outside of their normal scope of work, are stretched and enriched in ways they never imagined.
Through this inimitable exchange between artist and child, the artist experiences the power of giving and the child experiences the power of their own artistic journey.

Generra Jeans set up a Charity Auction of Jeans designed by Celebrities, Musicians and Artists including Gweneth Paltro, Adrian Brody, Damien Price and Julian Moore. Kirstens pair reached $1,000 and all proceeds went to the Inner City Arts.
Inner-City Arts was founded in 1989 in response to funding cuts that eliminated arts instruction from Los Angeles public schools. Aware of the powerful role of the arts, Bob Bates, Artistic Director and Co-Founder, saw the need to offer at-risk children the opportunity to experience the power of creativity. Along with Irwin Jaeger, a local businessman and entrepreneur, Bob worked to restore arts education to the children in and around Los Angeles’ skid row area. From the beginning, a unique and on-going partnership was formed – Los Angeles Unified School District brings students to Inner-City Arts during their regular school day.

American Eagle, a clothing retailer, said six young stars agreed to design the shirts, including Kirsten Dunst, who starred in “Spiderman,” Mila Kunis of “That 70’s Show” and Zach Braff of “Scrubs.”
American Eagle donated a portion of the sale of each T-shirt to Jumpstart, a national nonprofit that pairs college students serving as AmeriCorps members with preschool children struggling in Head Start and other early learning programs.

WOMEN WITH A HEART – CHARITY AUCTION

Kirsten was one of 25 female celebrities taking part in Platinum Guild International’s Women with Heart promotion. Kirsten has designed a pendant that will be auctioned off on February 1st 2002 to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, which helps children infected with the HIV/AIDS virus.The pendant features three hearts; ruby, diamond and sapphire, falling right below the collarbone, symmetrical, chain connected on either side, with a flat heart profile and matte finish and set stone.

Kirsten, along with a variety of young celebrities joined an Anti-Smoking Campaign back in 1998.

Other Young celebrities to join the campaign were, Natalie Portman, Rachael Leigh Cook and Kim Delaney. Kirsten in fact now smokes herself even though she was a strong focus in this campaign. Kirsten is now (in 2011) trying to quit smoking and we hope she is successful.
