Art Basel Miami Beach
Art Basel Miami Beach is the most important art show in the United States. As the sister event of Switzerland's Art Basel, the most prestigious art show worldwide for the past 39 years, Art Basel Miami Beach combines an international selection of top galleries with an exciting program of special exhibitions, parties and crossover events featuring music, film, architecture and design. This years show runs from December 4th-7th.

Thursday evening at the Cartier Dome, David Lynch was being toasted for the film he specially created for the temporary structure. The result, which features psychedelic computerized abstractions of floating diamonds in a very high end version of a planetarium show, took three years to put together. "Making the diamonds - that's what took so long," explained Lynch, who brought along a video camera to film the results in between courses. Among those who came to pay their respects to the director were Naomi Campbell, Dasha Zhukova and Kirsten Dunst. The actress, in town for just one full day, said she wasn't sure if she was going to hit the main fair. "I prefer to see art in a more intimate environment," said Dunst, who came as a guest of her friend, Art of Elysium founder Jennifer Howell. "We're busy prepping the Christmas play for the kids," she said. Also on her plate is her documentary on voting, "Why Tuesday?".

I've added to the gallery pics of Kirsten leaving this event.
