I’ve added to the gallery pics of Kirsten in New York on tuesday just after the tremors from the Virginia earthquake reached New York.
The UK trailer for “Melancholia” was released today & you can view it here.
A special screening of the film “Our Idiot Brother” was held in New York on monday. Kirsten attended the screening & we’ve added pics to the gallery.
Hi everyone. Many apologies that the website has been offline for the best part of a week. We had a sudden, major problem with our server. We think we’ve just about got things sorted now but Jess & Marc are still working ‘behind the scenes’ tweaking a few things & making sure everything is ok.
I’ll be getting the gallery updated with all the recent photos during the next couple of days. To start with I’ve added a pic of Kirsten on the cover of the new issue of Wonderland magazine. The magazine is out in the UK tomorrow & will be available in the U.S early next month.
Magnolia Pictures have announced that “Melancholia” will be released on Video On Demand (VOD) in America on October 7th. The film will then be released in US cinemas on November 11th. You might remember that the film was screened at a cinema in Los Angeles for one week last month; this was done so that the film could be released on VOD before it’s full cinematic release & still qualify to be considered for next years Academy Awards.
Melancholia will be screened at the New York Film Festival which runs from September 30th to October 16th.
I’ve added another promotional still & the US Poster for Melancholia to the gallery.
Last wednesday Kirsten attended the opening night of “HotelMotel” at the Gershwin Hotel in New York. The production features two short plays “Animals & Plants” & “Pink Knees on Pale Skin”. We’ve added two pics to the gallery.
Kirsten says her family are the most important thing in her life and she loves spending time with her parents and grandparents. “I speak to them every day .
My grandmother lives with my mother and I worry about not seeing her enough. I love my grandparents. I can never understand why people put family into care homes. I feel proud that I’ve earned enough money to buy a house for my mother and grandmother,”contactmusic.com quoted the 29-year-old as saying. “My grandfather in Germany was so proud of my Best Actress award. He was telling all his friends, he got to be the guy with the big news. I loved that,” she added. Kirsten lives with her younger brother Christian and admits she’s “lucky” to have one of the wonderful family. “I’m lucky with my family. My younger brother Christian lives with me and when I’m not working I travel. I see friends,” said Kirsten.
Kirsten has spoken about her “delicate” battle with depression, and how it impacted her latest movie role. The actress checked into a treatment facility in 2008 to be treated for depression, and has been open about her problems.
She plays a woman called Justine with the mood disorder in Melancholia, a science-fiction movie directed by Lars von Trier. Her own battles with the illness were part of the reason she wanted to star in the release, for which she won the best actress prize at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.
“I have experienced depression. Many people have. Mine was caused by a few things. I felt a lot of stress from all these different areas and I needed to… It’s delicate,” she told the September issue of UK magazine Elle.
“You can go through many wrong doors before it gets right. I brought my own slant [to the role] but I am very much portraying Lars’ experience of depression. We met before I did the movie and talked about how the light goes out of your eyes. People don’t talk about depression, so for me it was really amazing that this was going to be portrayed.”
It’s thought relationships were one of the reasons Dunst sought treatment, as she checked into Cirque Lodge in Utah months after splitting from musician Johnny Borrell.
Now happily romancing Jason Boesel, who is also in the music business, the 29-year-old actress has mused about love. While many in her profession end up dating others in the movie industry, it’s not something she can ever imagine doing.
“I don’t think actors should ever be together. How can two actors ever make a go of it? If you do what I do, you get to meet all these amazing actors, musicians, artists. It sounds great but you can be swept away and I want marriage and children. Not yet. In a few years with a Jimmy Stewart kind of guy who is gentle, graceful, intelligent, someone who live his life by a set of rules,” she explained.
I’ve added some promotional stills from “Interview With The Vampire” to the gallery.
